CryoPen – The Latest In Aesthetic Tech To Treat Skin Lesions

If you are affected by skin lesions, then it’s good to know that if you want them removed we offer a fast, pain-free way to do this at Christopher Maerevoet. We use CryoPen, which harnesses the latest in aesthetics technology to remove various skin lesions using sub-zero temperatures.

What Are Skin Lesions?

‘Skin lesion’ is a phrase that might be new to you, though you may be affected by them as they take on varying forms. The term describes any area of your skin that has different characteristics from the surrounding skin, including variations in colour, shape, size, and texture, and it’s common for these things to develop as part of the ageing process. To help you to determine whether this treatment will aid your concerns, we’ll look at some of the most common forms of skin lesions that are treatable using CryoPen.

Age Spots & Sun Spots

These are both forms of pigmentation and appear as dark patches that lay flush with the skin. While age spots are a result of an excess in the production of melanin due to skin ageing, sun spots appear because of long-term sun exposure and can also result from the use of tanning beds. For the removal of either of these, usually only one CryoPen treatment is needed.

Skin Tags

A skin tag is a small flap of skin, often sausage-like in shape and a few millimetres in length.
They can appear on the neck, in the armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts. They can also appear on the face and, when they do, it’s usually on the lower eyelid. While they are harmless, they can be irritated by clothing and might cause a lack of self-confidence. Once a skin tag is removed with CryoPen, it’s a permanent solution as it won’t grow back.

If you’ve ever noticed any small, raised, pearly-white or yellowish bumps on your skin, then these are known as milia. They are most often seen on your face, particularly around the eyelids, cheeks, nose, forehead and chest, but they can occur anywhere on the body. CryoPen’s multiple settings means that it can remove milia even on the most sensitive parts of your face.

How Does CryoPen Work?

CryoPen is a hand-held device that’s used to carry out Cryosurgery – a process that uses extreme cold created by nitrous oxide to destroy lesion tissue by freezing it, as it forms ice crystals. These crystals then rupture the lesion membrane and destroy its cells. The pen-like end that makes contact with the skin allows CryoPen to target imperfections with great accuracy, meaning that there is no damage to healthy tissue.
